New Charges Filed Against Scottsbluff Couple in Abuse Case - KHGI-TV/KWNB-TV/KHGI-CD-Grand Island, Kearney, Hastings

A Scottsbluff couple has had new charges filed against them in the case of abusing their 6-year-old son.

Carlos and Jennifer Herrera were charged last week with child abuse resulting in serious injury. The new charge comes after last year's charge of hindering and obstructing a police officer resulted in a dismissed case last month.

The Herreras are accused of endangering their son by not providing necessary food, clothing and shelter until he was removed from their home in October 2011.
