The beloved and respected site mentor of My Big Campus continues to keep students safe online
Bakersfield, CA (PRWEB) October 12, 2012
Bob Campus is the robot mascot of My Big Campus, the learning management system from Lightspeed Systems. This week Bob Campus unveiled his new look to the My Big Campus Community. After a couple years of working non-stop to ensure My Big Campus is safe and users are well-informed, Bob needed a bit of freshening-up. Looking and feeling better than ever, Bob is back in action and ready to befriend and assist the growing number of educators and students engaging on My Big Campus.
The omnipresent mentor, helper, model of digital citizenship, and all-around nice guy, Bob is committed to ensuring My Big Campus is a safe place for students to collaborate, share resources, and engage in learning. He is dedicated to making sure all content is monitored and appropriate and also works tirelessly to make sure the site is running smoothly. Bob (aided by his trusty clones) is available 24/7 to answer any questions from educators or students—making sure collaboration and learning can happen anytime, anywhere.
With new educators and students joining My Big Campus every day, Bob had recently been feeling stretched thin. He just knew something wasn’t quite right. Working at his desk one day last week, Bob started to feel very strange. He suddenly slipped out of his chair onto the floor and his world went dark. Fortunately, his clones took over monitoring My Big Campus and the site was unaffected. When Bob finally awoke, he learned his internal Robot chip overheated and had shut down. Although that sounds awful, Bob’s memory circuits were intact, and thanks to the quick-thinking engineers at My Big Campus, Bob was saved and upgraded to a new and improved Robot body. Bob is now sleeker, stronger, faster, and even more prepared to assist the ever-growing My Big Campus community! Think of it as Bob 2.0.
“My job is to make sure My Big Campus is a safe place for students to collaborate and learn,” shares Bob. “Between monitoring student interactions, helping users, checking for appropriate content, and making sure the site is running efficiently, I was felling worn-out. Thankfully, the My Big Campus team stepped in and made sure I received the care I needed. I look good, feel good and am ready to continue to keep My Big Campus safe!”
Part social learning platform and part LMS, My Big Campus is the one tool schools need to create safe, collaborative, and mobile learning environments. With the help of Bob, My Big Campus continues to focus on student safety—ensuring content is educational, interactions are appropriate, and students are fully engaged in learning.
