A routine traffic stop Friday afternoon led to the seizure of more than 40 pounds of pot.
Around 12:30 p.m., Friday, Oct. 12, a Nebraska State Patrol Trooper
stopped a 2011 Ford rental car for failure to signal on the Utica Spur just
north of the Utica Interstate 80 interchange.
A State Patrol service dog
indicated that the odor of drugs was present. The officer then searched the car and found four pieces of luggage in the trunk that contained 44 pounds of pot.
Manothin J. Siriaphone, 36, of Las
Vegas, Nev., was driving the car. He was taken to the Seward County Jail on a charge of possession
of marijuana with intent to deliver.
