Two California men are behind bars following the second traffic stop in a week at the Utica exit of Interstate-80 that led to a drug bust.
Fausto Jacques Jr., 43, Chula Vista, Calif., and a
passenger in his vehicle, Francisco Frias-Felix, 60, San Ysidro, Calif., were both taken to the Seward County Jail after a State trooper found 17.5 lbs of meth in the car.
Just after noon on Monday, Oct.
15, a trooper stopped a 2006 Nissan Armada heading west on I-80 for following too close.
Jacques gave the trooper consent to
search the vehicle, which led to the discovery of 12 packages of
meth. The drugs, with an estimated street value of $554,000, were found in a spare tire.
Jacques and Frias-Felix
were
both lodged in the Seward County Jail, and charged with possession of a
controlled substance with intent to deliver.
