Residents were forced to evacuate a Grand Island apartment building after a fire broke out last night.
The Grand Island fire chief says the fire started inside a wall of an empty
apartment. The fire then spread to the attic.
The damaged apartment was only recently vacated, about 10 days ago.
Fire crews were able to get the fire under control but they had to block Highway 30 in order to access a fire hydrant.
This is the second fire that has struck the Lazy V apartments, an electrical fire broke out in February.
