Lincoln- Drunk driving lands three motorists behind bars as a result of special enforcement efforts conducted by the Nebraska State Patrol (NSP).
The special enforcement was in conjunction with the Nebraska-Michigan game on Saturday, Oct. 27.
In addition to the three drunk driving arrests the NSP also issued three citations for driving under suspension, 40 speeding citations and warnings, three seatbelt citations, six citations for no proof of insurance and conducted 14 motorist assists.
Special enforcement is designed to put additional officers on the roadways during heavily traveled times both before and after Husker home football games. The Nebraska State Patrol will also conduct game day traffic enforcement efforts during the November 10, NU-Penn State game and the November 17, NU-Minnesota contest.
The additional enforcement is paid for thanks in part to a $6,570 grant from the Nebraska Office of Highway Safety (NOHS).
