Gering School Goes on Lockdown, Police Find No Suspects - KHGI-TV/KWNB-TV/KHGI-CD-Grand Island, Kearney, Hastings

Two Gering schools were on lockdown Monday after a report was made about a man carrying a gun near the schools.

Police officials say Gering High School and Lincoln Elementary were placed on lockdown for about 45 minutes Monday afternoon.

A female student told officials she saw a young man walking near some tennis courts at the high school. She said the man was wearing a hooded sweatshirt with a weapon, possibly a rifle, sticking out the top of the sweatshirt.

Police searched the area but didn't find anyone.
