Did you ever think you would see the day when candy is the least talked about aspect of Halloween? Wednesday at West Lawn Elementary that came true with hundreds of kids focused on learning, rather than bagging goodies.
"It really is neat to watch them come up with characters, decide what they want to be other than dressing up to go trick or treating," said West Lawn's nurse, Jennifer Nowicki.
Elementary kids were caught up in the adventures of reading rather than trick-or-treating. Picking their favorite book and dressing up as the character, putting on a parade of knowledge.
