Homestead Commemorates American Indian Heritage Month

Homestead National Monument of America will commemorate American Indian Heritage Month with a special program by American Indian flutist and storyteller Michael Murphy. This special program will be held at the monument's Education Center on Sunday, November 11 at 2 p.m.

Michael Murphy skillfully blends his love for music and storytelling into an amazing performance that must be seen. He has been playing the American Indian flute for more than 20 years and has performed at the National Music Museum and the National Museum of the American Indian in Washington D.C. Murphy will be bringing his renowned soulful performance to Homestead for a performance that is sure to be special. It will be a great event for the whole family to enjoy and will help Homestead commemorate American Indian Heritage Month.

Homestead National Monument of America is a unit of the National Park Service located four miles west of Beatrice, Nebraska. Hours of operation are Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Saturday and Sunday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Admission is free of charge.
