Two men were arrested Saturday after a state trooper found 40 pounds of pot during a traffic stop along the Giltner exit on Interstate 80.
A trooper stopped Jose Manuel Figueroa, 24, Selma, Calif., and his passenger, Martinez Cruz Garcia, 20, a Mexican national, Saturday around 11:18 a.m. after they failed to signal at the Giltner interchange.
After the trooper was given consent to search the
vehicle, 40 pounds of marijuana was found divided up into 10 pound packages in four duffle bags in the back of the SUV.
Figueroa and Garcia were both lodged in the Hamilton County Jail on charges of possession of marijuana with intent to deliver.
