Deb Fischer and Bob Kerrey are calling on some of the biggest names in Nebraska politics to show voters the kind of U.S. senator they would be.
Both candidates have used political endorsements to sell themselves to voters.
Fischer has traveled the state with republicans Dave Heinemann and Mike Johanns.
Kerrey points to his endorsement from former senator chuck Hagel, a republican who showed an independent streak.
Fischer appeared with Heinemann again Monday night in Omaha.
Democrat Bob Kerrey also touts his endorsements, saying recent support by Hagel shows he's better suited to work across party lines.
Their senate race could have national repercussions, as republicans hope to take control of the senate.
Nebraska voters also will decide whether to re–elect the state's three republican congressmen.
