What Really Affects Grocery Prices

The price of a farmer's product doesn't really affect the prices we see in grocery stores as much as many people think.

The real culprit in higher grocery prices is energy prices. Only about 14 percent of a farmer's produce is seen in the end price at the store while 33 percent of energy costs is reflected in the end result.
