UNK's dream of creating a south campus is one step closer to becoming a reality.
Developers presented their visions of the new addition on Thursday, after gathering input and ideas on what types of venues, housing and economic opportunities should be put in place.
The purpose of the new development is to promote the growth of the campus and the community.
"This is an opportunity for us to create a place where all of these different types of activities can happen and flourish," said UNK's Barbara Johnson. "And support both UNK and Kearney community and the greater Kearney community."
This is just the first step in the long process of the approval and developmental stages, with hopes to start building in 2015.
