More students are choosing the United States to get a higher education according to the institute of international education.
They found international enrollment grew nearly six percent last year with much of that growth is concentrated at big Midwest schools.
Some have seen 40 percent growth in international students. Nationally, there were 765,000 foreign students on U.S. campuses last year.
UNK is one of those Midwest universities seeing an increase in international students.
544 international students enrolled at the university this fall, that's just over a 13 percent increase.
The students now make up 10 percent of the incoming class and represent 58 separate countries on campus. The Republic of South Korea has the largest delegation followed by China and Japan.
