Gas Prices Continue to Drop But Still High for the Season

Posted: Updated:

Gas prices have dropped more than seven cents nationwide in the past two weeks.

The new national average for regular gasoline is $3.47, that's down more than 36 cents over since the beginning of October.

Analysts credit a drop in demand for the lower prices.

While prices are down in the last month and a half, the national average will still come close to breaking a record for the highest ever national average on Thanksgiving.

In Nebraska, the price for a gallon of gas is sitting a little lower than the national average.

Prices fell just over four cents this week, with gas now averaging $3.33 across the state.

That's a 28-cent drop from a month ago and comparable to prices seen at the pump during Thanksgiving week last year.
