Imagine going out to recess and only being able to play on a small patch of grass. That's a reality for students at Emerson Elementary.
Due to construction in spring, their playground had to be destroyed. Unfortunately the school doesn't have enough funds to build a new one.
In the spring many students wrote and presented poems to the community, they hoped to raise funds for their playground but unfortunately, they didn't raise enough.
So the fight goes on. Emerson elementary is now competing for a playground grant.
If they win, they can receive up to $50,000 for a new playground.
