Fischer Announces Staff Leaders

Posted: Updated:

Senator-elect Deb Fischer has announced the selection of two Nebraskans to lead her Washington, D.C. and Nebraska staff. Mike Hybl will serve as Chief of Staff and Dustin Vaughan will serve as the Nebraska State Director.

Hybl has served as the Executive Director of the Nebraska Public Service Commission since 2007. "I was very pleased that Mike Hybl agreed to be my chief of staff," said Senator-elect Fischer. "He has served the people of Nebraska with integrity and passion for his job. He understands public policy and is well-respected throughout the Capitol and state government.  I have no doubt that he will continue his hard work and good standing in Washington, D.C. heading up my staff."

Hybl also has been a shareholder with Consortia Consulting of Omaha, Nebraska, President of the Nebraska Trucking Association, and Director of Government Relations for Great Plains Communications of Blair, Nebraska. Hybl served as a legal counsel to the Nebraska Unicameral Legislature from 1980 through 1998 for the Agriculture and Environment Committee, the Transportation Committee, and Legal Counsel to Speaker William Nichol and Speaker Doug Kristensen.

For State Director, Senator-elect Fischer has selected Dustin Vaughan. "I have witnessed first-hand the high level of service and respect that Dusty has given to our constituents over the past eight years in my legislative office," Senator-elect Fischer said. "He is knowledgeable of the challenges this State faces, and with him leading our Nebraska staff I have no doubt that Nebraskans will get the response they deserve when contacting my state offices."

Vaughan has served as the Legal Counsel to the Transportation and Telecommunications Committee of the Nebraska Unicameral Legislature since 2007. Prior to that he was the Legislative Aide to Senator-elect Fischer in the Nebraska Unicameral Legislature.
