Exploding Target Sparks Grass Fire - KHGI-TV/KWNB-TV/KHGI-CD-Grand Island, Kearney, Hastings

An exploding target sparked a grass fire north of Odessa around 3 p.m. Saturday.
 
Assistant Fire Chief Trent Snow said that although the packaging may say it's non-flammable, exploding targets can produce a spark.

With Nebraska's dry conditions, even the smallest spark can cause a fire. This particular spark led to a 20 acre fire.

No buildings have been destroyed and no injuries were reported.
