Hastings residents get into the holiday spirit with the fifth annual Candy Cane Hunt.
Kids of all ages came out to Chatauqua Park to find candy canes with the hopes of finding the big chocolate filled candy cane.
Officials say it's a great thing for the community.
"The best part of Candy Cane Hunt is kids can get their candy canes, if they get a ribbon on the candy cane they get a bigger prize," said Hastings Park and Recreation's Ryan Martin. "And it's just neat for the community to come out and get in the holiday spirit."
About 40 kids participated in Saturday's event. The Candy Cane Hunt started from an idea from the community and has grown into an annual event.
