Man Arrested After Kids Found Riding in Back of a Moving Truck - KHGI-TV/KWNB-TV/KHGI-CD-Grand Island, Kearney, Hastings

A man and his wife are facing felony child abuse charges after the woman and two kids were found riding in the back of a moving truck.

A truck driven by Brad Behnke was stopped on I–80 after another driver reported that children were riding in the back.

The Nebraska State Patrol trooper found a 6–year–old girl and a 4–year–old boy sitting on a mattress in the back of the truck with their mother.

Jeanna Behnke, the children's mother, admitted to smoking marijuana in the back of the truck after the trooper smelled the drug's odor in the truck.

Brad Behnke was arrested on charges of child abuse/neglect, driving on a suspended license, possession of less than an ounce of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Jeanna Behnke was cited for child neglect and has a court date set for Dec. 27.
