The husband of a 27-year-old Grand Island woman accused of having sex with her 16-year-old stepson is speaking out, after she appeared in court Wednesday on sexual assault and incest charges.
Prosecutors say Michelle Almonte-DeJesus admitted to having sex with the boy after her husband, who is also the teen's father, walked in on them.
Enrique Almonte-DeJesus Jr. says he suspected something was going on with his wife and son after he thought he saw them kissing one day, so he came up with a plan to catch them red-handed.
"One day prior, I went downstairs and I saw them kissing, sitting on the couch," he said. "I had my doubts, and I acted as if I was going to work, and I returned and found them having sex in my home."
Now, he says he hopes she pays for the pain she's caused him, and their entire family.
"[I want her to] pay for what she has done" he said, "the damage she has caused me emotionally and everything. She turned my son against me and he now threatens me with death."
Last month, Almonte-DeJesus pleaded 'not guilty' to first-degree sexual assault on a child and incest charges, and waived her right to a jury trial.
Police say the sexual assault occurred between January and June, and the incest occurred between June and August.
Almonte-DeJesus was released from the hall county jail after posting 10 percent of a $50,000 bond, and was ordered to have no contact with her stepson.
Her final plea hearing is set for Feb. 6.
