The holidays are generally a time of giving for many. However, this creates an opportunity for scammers to solicit donations to line their own pockets. 

Beware of solicitations from charities that don't necessarily deliver on their promises or are ill-equipped to carry out their plans. The BBB also advises resisting demands for on-the-spot donations.
