Brake failure is the suspected culprit in a traffic accident north of Kearney.
The accident took place Wednesday around 5:30 p.m.
A tractor-trailer truck was headed west on Road 280. The semi's driver was unable to stop and crashed into an SUV heading north on Highway 10.
Officials believe that the semi's brakes failed and are being blamed for the accident.
Authorities have not released names of those involved in the accident, but any injuries sustained in the crash are believed to be minor.
