80 Pounds of Pot Seized in Keith County After Traffic Stop - KHGI-TV/KWNB-TV/KHGI-CD-Grand Island, Kearney, Hastings

The Nebraska State Patrol seized 80 pounds of pot during a routine traffic stop in Keith County.

Just after 5 p.m., Thursday, a trooper stopped a Ford SUV for speeding as it headed eastbound along Interstate-80 near the Roscoe Exit. The driver, Mathew Hornsby, was the only person inside the vehicle and gave consent to search the SUV.

During the search, the trooper found 80 pounds of marijuana inside a duffel bag and a car luggage carrier in the passenger/cargo area of the SUV.

Hornsby, 38, Mariposa, Calif., was taken to the Keith County Jail and charged with possession of marijuana with intent to deliver.
