A North Platte man will serve seven years behind bars for receiving and distributing child pornography.
Jason Bielicki was sentenced Monday by United States District Judge John Gerrard to seven years in prison to be followed by five years of supervised release.
The sentence comes after Bielicki entered a guilty plea for one count of receipt and distribution of child pornography.
An investigator with the North Platte Police Department began investigating the case in July 2011. The investigator determined that Bielicki's computer was being used to share child pornography through the Internet.
Bielicki
initially told officers that he was downloading items to report to others but then admitted
to viewing, possessing, and sharing images and videos of child pornography.
Over 2,100 items from the computer and other storage media were sent to the National Center for Missing
and Exploited Children for identification.
The
investigation was conducted by the North Platte Police Department
and the Department of Homeland Security - Homeland Security Investigations.
