One Kearney kindergarten classroom was celebrating Tuesday after their teacher was named NTV's Outstanding Teacher for January.
This month's winner is Mrs. Jo Slawski from Buffalo Hills Elementary in Kearney.
Mrs. Slawski was nominated by Isabelle Warrington, who says Mrs. Slawski is thoughtful, and even came to visit her in
the hospital when she was sick.
Mrs. Slawski was very surprised by the announcement. She says it's the children that keep her coming to work smiling everyday.
"I really enjoy working with children because you can help to
mold them at an early age and touch their lives and instill in them a love for
learning that hopefully is going to last for a lifetime," shared Slawski.
In addition to her award, Slawski's entire class will get free runzas.
