The presidential inauguration is a national event that attracts fans of politics from all over the country and Nebraska is no exception.

Hastings high graduate and current college student Caleb Northrop made the trip to Washington D.C. to witness the inauguration ceremonies Monday.

Northrop told NTV the atmosphere during the event was electric.

Attendees braved the cold to hear what President Obama would say about our countries future.

Northrop said he was happy with what he heard today and hopes the president's goal to work across party lines holds true.

Northrop said he was very glad he made the trip to our nation's capital. For anyone with interest in politics, regardless of party affiliation, he feels that it is a "must see."
