Holdrege residents have pulled together to help a special high schooler get through the toughest fight of his life.
The FFA chapter and students of Holdrege High School are gearing up to help one of their classmates.
Braden Badertscher is fighting a rare and aggressive form of cancer. Students have been showing their support during games, and signing up to help at a fundraiser taking place on Sunday.
While Braden can't be there because of his treatments, he's grateful for the help.
"It's been amazing, the community's been awesome. Everything the kids are doing in school, I never really expected, but it's super nice of what everybody's done," said Holdrege junior Braden Badertscher. "I mean what everybody's donated too. I mean some of that is unbelievable, so it's been really great."
The fundraiser will be at the Phelps County Ag Center in Holdrege on Sunday, Jan. 27 starting at 5 p.m.
