U.S.
Sen. Mike Johanns is cosponsoring legislation introduced Tuesday that aims to repeal the individual insurance mandate that is part of the president's health care law.
"I
still believe this law should be fully repealed, but until then we must
continue our efforts to dismantle its most damaging provisions," Johanns said.
"The individual mandate survived the scrutiny of the Supreme Court as a tax,
but that doesn't change the fact that it's a blatant overreach of the
government's powers and another attempt by this Administration to limit
Americans' liberties."
The
American Liberty Restoration Act looks to end provisions in the health care law that require individuals to buy health insurance.
The individual insurance mandate is
scheduled to go into effect at the end of the year.
