A guide to the Lincoln Highway has been published by the Lincoln Highway Scenic & Historic Byway Board.
The travel guide was released in conjunction with the highway's centennial which is being celebrated throughout 2013. Interested individuals can find the guide at locations across the state, including the Grand Island Convention & Visitors Bureau Visitor Information Center.
The Lincoln Highway (U.S. Highway 30) is the state's longest byway at 450 miles, stretching the total width of the state.
"The centennial of the
Lincoln Highway in 2013 will mean increased tourism from visitors wanting to
travel the historic road," said Sarah Focke, president of the byway. "This
travel guide will help them visit all of the hidden treasures located along our
Nebraska byway."
The guide contains information from communities all along the
byway, highlighting their attractions and 2013 events.
