Dawson County Historical Society to Hold Annual Meeting

The Dawson County Historical Society will hold its 2013 Annual Meeting on Saturday, February 9th.
Beginning at 10:30 a.m., at the Wilson Public Library in Cozad, the meeting will include a brief business meeting followed by a speaker. The meeting is open to members of the public, however only DCHS members may participate during the business portion.
The Wilson Public Library is located at 910 Meridian Ave., Cozad, NE 69130.
The meeting will cover a report on the state of the Society by Museum Director John Woodward and the election of individuals to the DCHS Board of Directors. Directors serve a three-year term and all active DCHS members are eligible for nomination.
Following the business portion of the meeting, Dale Nielsen, a retired Air Force officer and Dawson County native, will make a presentation. Nielsen will cover the 1919 Transcontinental Army Convey that followed the Lincoln Highway from Washington, D.C. to Oakland, California.
