GRAND ISLAND, Neb.
(AP) — Authorities say a 61-year-old car driver was fatally injured in a
collision with a semitrailer in south-central Nebraska.
The woman was identified as Gloria Carlson, of Albion.
The accident occurred a little after 1 p.m. Wednesday on U.S. Highway 30 in Grand Island.
Grand
Island Police Sgt. Stan Steele says Carlson was driving west before
slowing to turn south at Stuhr Road. Steele says Carlson's car was
struck by the eastbound big rig driven by Phillip Guell, who wasn't
injured.
Carlson was taken to St. Francis Medical Center and pronounced dead there.
Steele says investigators say Carlson apparently failed to yield to the oncoming truck.
