A Ewing man charged with arson and murder in connection with a mobile home fire near the northeastern Nebraska town has pleaded not guilty.

Matthew Hinrichsen, 33, entered his plea on Wednesday in Antelope County District Court.

Hinrichsen is charged with arson, two weapons counts and two counts of first-degree murder in the deaths of 25-year old Victoria Lee and her husband, 30-year-old Alex Vargas.

Authorities say Lee and Vargas were shot before the mobile home was set on fire. Investigators found the couple's bodies on Dec. 8 in the burned-out mobile home.

Officers arrested Hinrichsen at his parent's home where he allegedly admitted to his father that he killed two people.
