Grand Island – In 600 cities across the country, thousands of people will walk toward one destination, a world free of Multiple Sclerosis. To join the movement to bring the world one step closer to a cure, register for the annual Walk MS event at Barr Middle School.
The walk will take place on Saturday, April 27.
More than just a fundraising event, Walk MS is a celebration for an entire community.
The money raised will provide funds for local programs and services and research on a national level. The event itself creates a hope-filled and enjoyable atmosphere for everyone affected by MS while generating a greater awareness of Multiple Sclerosis in the public at large.
"Walk MS provides the means and a way to bring the community together for the MS cause," said Kay Julian, chapter president for the Mid-America Chapter of the National MS Society. "It's a way for people affected by MS and people connected to MS to walk, volunteer and participate all for the cause."
Walk MS includes three and six mile routes, complete with rest stops, snacks and encouragement from volunteers.
The Walk also has a handicap accessible route so people of all abilities can participate. Participants can walk as an individual or part of a team to fund-raise or you can volunteer for a rest stop.
Whether you walk, volunteer or donate, we thank you for getting involved. No matter your involvement, you are an important part of the Walk MS movement.
