A relocation incentive bill has passed its first-round approval.

Lawmakers voted unanimously to advance the measure that would give cities the option to create incentive programs to attract high-demand workers.

The bill would apply to cities that allow a local-option sales tax for economic development projects.

Several Nebraska cities have already expressed interest in adopting a relocation incentive program.
