This week we salute Frank Thornburg.
This nomination comes from Frank's grandson Christopher.
He says his grandpa served in the Merchant Marines when he was 18 and that his service took him all across the globe.
As a marine Frank carried supplies to troops overseas in WWII traveling from San Francisco to New York on one of his trips.
Frank left the Marines in 1947 and married his wife Pauline that same year.
He passed away in February of 2007 and is survived by his wife and four sons in Lexington, Neb.
Frank, thank you for your service to our country.
