The trial of a Naponee man accused of beating his two-year-old grandson to death, has been moved from Franklin County to Adams County.

The Franklin County attorney said the trial for Peter Draper is scheduled for May 6 at the Adams County courthouse. The move is taking place to accommodate Draper due to a hearing impairment and poor acoustics in the Franklin County courthouse.

According to court records, Joseph Rinehart Jr. lived with his mother and grandparents in Naponee when he died on April 30. Autopsy results say he died from blunt force trauma and also suffered from severe internal injuries and external bruising.

The boy's mother, Laura Rinehart, is also charged in the case, as well as his grandmother, Nancy Draper.
