A variety of Valentine mylar
balloons will be for sale throughout the counties of Hall, Hamilton, Howard and
Merrick from Monday, February 11, through Thursday, February 14. All proceeds will go to the Crisis Center,
Inc.
Balloons are priced $2 for
individual, $3 for a pair.
Participating retail locations include numerous Pump & Pantry
locations, Bosselman I-80 Travel Center, First Presbyterian
Church of St Paul, Heritage Bank of Wood River, Pinnacle Bank of
Palmer, and the following Grand Island businesses: Pumpers, Principal
Financial, J-Boys, and T-Shirt Engineers.
Balloons will also be available at the Crisis Center office from 9
a.m. to 5 p.m.
The Crisis Center is committed to
the safety and empowerment of victims and survivors of domestic violence and
sexual assault by providing safe shelter, advocacy, education, and building
stronger families and promoting a safer community. In 2011 the Crisis Center sheltered 98
adults and 105 kids, assisted with 142 protection orders, provided advocacy to
522 kids, and provided face-to-face advocacy to 1,495 adults.
