Gov. Dave Heineman is looking for applicants interested in filling a vacancy on the University of Nebraska Board of Regents.
The governor's office is accepting applications through the close of business on Friday, March 8. The position serves the southeast part of the state and will be subject to election in 2014.
The seat was previously held by Lavon Heidemann, who resigned his post Wednesday to serve as the state's lieutenant governor, replacing Rick Sheehy, who resigned from the position.
The board
supervises the general operations of the university, and the control and
direction of all expenditures. The board meets regularly, primarily in Lincoln,
but also in Omaha and greater Nebraska.
Interested individuals should complete the application
form available at governor.nebraska.gov and
include a cover letter and resume addressed to Ms. Kathleen Dolezal in the
Governor's Office, P.O. Box 94848, Lincoln, NE 68509; or emailed to kathleen.dolezal@nebraska.gov.
A map of the district can be found on the Board of Regents website.
