Fremont Senator Charlie Janssen has announced his plans to run for governor in 2014.
Janssen
says he is running to keep Nebraska's conservative values alive. His plans if elected as governor include limiting government and growing the business sector.
The Republican state senator is known for his strong opposition
to illegal immigration. He also has introduced guns-rights bills this
year and is trying to end state-funded prenatal care coverage for
illegal immigrants.
He says his decision to run was not swayed by former Lt. Gov. Rick Sheehy's recent exit from the 2014 race.
