Gas Prices Continue to Rise Across the State

Posted: Updated:

The average price of gas has risen 18.5 cents per gallon in Nebraska over the past week.

The average price of gas Sunday was $3.73 per gallon in Nebraska, according to GasBuddy's survey. That is higher than the national average which hit an average of $3.68 per gallon after rising an average 11.9 cents per gallon last week.

This rise makes gas prices an average 22 cents per gallon higher than the same day one year ago and nearly 59 cents per gallon higher than one month ago.

Unfortunately it looks like the prices may continue to rise. According to GasBuddy.com Senior Petroleum Analyst Gregg Laskoski, "The steady climb of retail gas prices is likely to continue following double-digit increases in wholesale prices with fuel production tightening in the majority of the country's refineries."
