The Grand Island Police Department will be issuing warnings Saturday evening for vehicles that are obviously "snow bound".
According to City Ordinance 22-99, it is illegal for vehicles to remain parked on the streets or any public "free parking" lot for longer than 72 hours.
The warnings will begin to be issued at 6 p.m. Saturday. There will be no fine for vehicle owners that are issued a tow warning, but if the vehicles are not moved by Monday at 6 p.m. the vehicle will be towed and the owner will have to pay a parking ticket, tow charge, impound fee and storage fee.
The police department is asking residents to take notice and move vehicles affected by the ordinance.
