Grand Island – The Heartland United Way is seeking community-minded individuals to participate in the annual community investment process.
Each spring, community volunteers review the Heartland United Way funded programs.
The volunteers are grouped into teams to evaluate funding requests from the partner agencies, visit agency sites, listen to agency presentations and make funding recommendations to the Heartland United Way Board of Directors as to how the funds would be best allocated.
All individuals who supported the United Way with a 2012-2013 campaign gift are invited to participate.
Donors will learn about the partner agencies and help ensure that the dollars donated to the Heartland United Way are distributed to the most effective programs and services in our communities. A varied group of volunteers are needed to represent all four counties, as well as a range of age groups, cultural backgrounds, economic and employment statuses.
If interested, you must be able to commit to attend a one-hour training session on March 18th at 4:30 p.m. or March 20th at 7:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. After the training, volunteers must also participate in a day-long evaluation of two to three agencies on one of these following dates: April 2, 3, 9, 11, or 15.
