A Roofing Scam Lands One Man Behind Bars For 3-4 Years - KHGI-TV/KWNB-TV/KHGI-CD-Grand Island, Kearney, Hastings

A man is sentenced to three to four years in prison for cheating homeowners out of thousands of dollars in a roof repair scam.

29-year-old Jerry Hendon received his sentence Friday in Madison County district court.

Hendon was accused of promising repairs on the roofs of two homes but he never did the work – work that amounted to nearly $5,000.

He told the judge he doesn't see himself as a con-artist.

Prosecutors had a different opinion and noted an active warrant in Kentucky alleging similar charges.
