The U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service is holding an art contest in honor of National Endangered Species Day which is May 17.

The purpose is to help young people gain a knowledge and appreciation for nationally threatened and endangered species.

Entrees need to be in by March 15. The contest is open to four age groups from kindergarten through grade 12.

The rules and entry forms can be found at endangeredspeciesday.org.
