A Scottsbluff man accused of robbing a bank has been found competent to stand trial.

Michael Scott, 42, is being charged in two separate cases. The judges for both cases held a joint hearing and reviewed Scott's psychiatric evaluation. The judges decided he is competent to stand trial.

Scott has pleaded not guilty in both of his cases. One case concerns the November robbery of a Valley Bank branch in Scottsbluff in which Scott was also charged with possession of a controlled substance; the other involves charges of theft by fraud and deception related to more than $8,000 in losses with bank ATM cards.

Scott continues to be held in lieu of a $750,000 bond.
