It's been around to help serve people's needs since the late 1800's. Today, the American Red Cross is just as strong, and wants everyone to know it.
From helping fire victims, to offering CPR training courses, the Red Cross is here to help.
The organization may be best known for its blood drives and disaster relief efforts, and by offering things like life saving phone apps, officials say there's so much more that they want you to know.
"Red Cross Month to us is just such awareness, to make sure people know we're here, we're in your community," said Training Specialist Renae Foster. "It doesn't matter where you live if you have an emergency, the Red Cross is a part of that."
Red Cross awareness month runs through the month of March.
