A 25-year-old Lincoln man accused of using a BB gun to shoot a woman four times in the head has been given 20 to 48 months in prison.
Blake Ruel was sentenced Thursday in Lancaster County District Court. Before his sentencing, Ruel said there was no excuse for what he did.
Ruel had pleaded no contest and was convicted of terroristic threats after prosecutors lowered the charge from assault.
Police say officers found the woman unconscious outside Ruel's home on Aug. 30th. Officers said he'd shot her in the forehead when she opened the front door, then three times in the back of her head when she ran.
The pellets lodged under her skin.
Court records reported Ruel had been smoking methamphetamine that night.
