In this ever–changing economy, getting sufficient funding is becoming harder for any type of school.
Saturday evening, the Adams County Lutheran Education Association held its annual fundraiser for Juniata's Christ Lutheran School and Hastings' Zion Lutheran School.
The event is designed to help get scholarship money for student tuition and facility upgrades.
Officials say events like this are crucial now, more than ever.
"It's a huge benefit to the schools. Education is changing, it used to be you throw in some desks and chalkboards and you had a school," said ACLEA Chair Mike Anderson. "Now you have I-Pads, smart boards, the curriculum upgrades, needing to continually change curriculum."
Money raised at Saturday's event will help approximately 130 students between the two schools.
