A Kearney couple facing charges of felony child abuse has had their case bonded to district court. The charges come after a 5-month-old had to be taken to the hospital with injuries consistent with shaken baby syndrome.

Trey Tickle, 22, is accused of shaking his girlfriend's daughter. He has been charged with four counts of intentional child abuse.

Tickle also faces a charge for possession of methamphetamine.

Brittney Schlund, the baby's mother, also faces two counts of felony child abuse for putting her child in a dangerous situation.

Authorities say the infant was treated in early December for vomiting and again Jan. 4. The baby was taken to an Omaha hospital for treatment, and doctors there concluded that her injuries were consistent with shaken baby syndrome.

The doctors also said the girl had tested positive for ingestion and exposure to methamphetamine.
